FAQ

How do you download top leaderboard ghost replays in Polytrack?
Click on any record entry on the track leaderboard and select 'Race Against Ghost' to load their real-time telemetry ghost into your session.
What is a sector delta time in time attack racing?
A delta time is the real-time difference (+/- milliseconds) between your current lap and the benchmark ghost car at each track checkpoint.

Competitive Telemetry Principles

In high-level Polytrack competition, you cannot guess where you are losing time—you must analyze ghost telemetry:

Telemetry Capture ➔ Sector Split Analysis ➔ Apex Entry Comparison ➔ Line Refinement

1. Analyzing Ghost Relative Velocity

  • Straightaway Pull: If the target ghost pulls away in a straight line, you either entered the straight with lower exit speed or took a wider line through the previous corner.
  • Corner Entry Divergence: Watch when the ghost’s brake lights flash. Top drivers brake later and lighter, rotating the car before applying full throttle.
  • Review driving inputs in Beginner Racing & Controls.

2. Identifying Micro-Scrub Speed Bleed

  • Over-Steering: Turning the steering wheel past the optimal slip angle scrubs 10-15 km/h off top speed without providing extra turning force.
  • Air Roll Misalignment: Hitting a landing ramp even 5 degrees off-axis causes tire bounce that interrupts engine acceleration.
  • Study pitch and air control in Drifting and Advanced Physics and Wall-Riding and Air-Braking Mastery.

3. Sector-by-Sector Iteration Workflow

  1. Isolate the sector with the largest negative delta.
  2. Practice that specific corner sequence using the instant R quick-respawn key.
  3. Compare your run against official campaign benchmarks in Official Track 01 Benchmark, Official Track 02 Guide, and Official Track 06 Guide.
  4. Apply your refined racing lines to courses in the Supersonic Speed Freeway Codes and Technical Mountain Drift Codes collections.
  5. Review masterclass shortcuts in Shortcuts and Speedrun Tips.
